Dare to Compare – 2018 Lincoln Navigator vs. 2018 Cadillac Escalade | Huntsville, AL

In a comparison between the luxurious 2018 Lincoln Navigator and 2018 Cadillac Escalade, the Lincoln Navigator delivers superior power, towing capacity, fuel economy, cargo space, safety ratings, and amenities.

Power

The Lincoln Navigator's engine is more powerful than the Escalade's. The Lincoln Navigator's 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 delivers 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. The Escalade's 6.2-liter V8 lags behind those numbers, offering 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Towing capacity

The Lincoln Navigator can tow larger loads with its more powerful engine. While the Lincoln model's maximum towing capacity is 8,700 pounds, the Escalade's capacity is slightly lower at 8,300 pounds.

Fuel economy

The Lincoln Navigator offers better fuel economy than the Escalade. With two-wheel drive, the Lincoln gets a combined 19 mpg, and it gets a combined 18 mpg with four-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the Escalade gets a combined 17 mpg in both configurations.

Cargo space

In every seating configuration, the Lincoln Navigator provides much more room for cargo. Behind the third row, the Lincoln model's 20.9 cubic feet of space beats the Escalade's 15.2. Behind the second row, it offers 63.6 cubic feet compared to the Escalade's 51.6. Behind the front row, it provides 103.3 cubic feet, while the Escalade offers just 94.2. The Lincoln Navigator also contains a standard fold-flat third row to make its cargo space more flexible. The Escalade doesn't offer that feature.

Safety

Both the Lincoln Navigator and the Escalade are safe vehicles, but the Lincoln Navigator is even safer. It gets across-the-board five-star crash test results from the NHTSA, while the Escalade only manages four-star scores in front crash testing.

Amenities

The Lincoln Navigator features a number of luxurious amenities that the Escalade can't match. On higher trims, the Lincoln offers comfort-maximizing 30-way adjustable front seats, unlike the Escalade. The Lincoln provides a standard 10-inch touch screen, while the Escalade's measures just 8 inches. The Lincoln Navigator model's Ultima® premium audio system comes with 20 speakers compared to the Escalade's premium 16-speaker Bose® system.
