The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus has earned one of the top honors from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Thanks to new and improved headlights, Lincoln Nautilus models built after March 2021 qualify for this year’s IIHS Top Safety Pick, which recognizes crashworthiness and crash prevention.

In order to earn a 2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must score good ratings in the organization’s six crash tests: driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. Additionally, it must rate either advanced or superior for frontal crash prevention, including vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian tests.

The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus achieved these qualifiers but had previously missed the TSP due to its headlights. Lincoln decided to upgrade the LED projector headlamps offered on the Reserve with the Ultimate package as well as the Black Label to reduce glare. This improvement pushed the Lincoln Nautilus over the edge and earned it the coveted Top Safety Pick award for 2021.

With the Lincoln Nautilus earning this prize, three Lincoln SUVs have picked up the 2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick. The Nautilus joins the Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Corsair, both of which also qualify when equipped with specific headlights.

The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus prioritizes safety, but it also delivers big in drivability, luxury, and intelligence. To see what the new Lincoln Nautilus can offer you, visit Ray Pearman Lincoln in Huntsville, Alabama.
