Today's Lincoln lineup has something for any driver who wants to experience premium quality on their daily commute. One of the finest options you'll find at Ray Pearman Lincoln is the Lincoln Nautilus. This two-row midsize luxury SUV embodies all the qualities that make Lincoln one of America's most beloved luxury brands.

The Nautilus boasts an aerodynamic body, ample cargo space, comfortable seating for up to five people, and advanced technologies. This makes it an ideal choice whether you have a budding career, a growing family, or just a preference for the finer things.

History of the Lincoln Nautilus

The Lincoln Nautilus is a continuation of another popular Lincoln SUV - the Lincoln MKX. In 2019, Lincoln began moving away from its MK nomenclature in favor of names with deeper meanings and emotional appeal. The rechristened Lincoln Nautilus draws its name from the submarine piloted by Captain Nemo in Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, speaking to a love of adventure.

Since debuting in 2019, the Lincoln Nautilus has been a steady representative of the Lincoln Quiet Flight design language. It's also a trendsetter in the lineup. For 2021, it became the first new Lincoln vehicle to receive SYNC® 4, the latest generation of the infotainment system.

What sets the Lincoln Nautilus apart?

In the current four-SUV Lincoln lineup, the Lincoln Nautilus slots in above the Lincoln Corsair but below the Lincoln Aviator. The Lincoln Corsair and Lincoln Nautilus are both smaller SUVs, offering two rows of seating for up to five people. Because the Lincoln Nautilus is larger, it provides more passenger space and cargo room than its smaller sibling.

If you have a growing family or think you might need more space for cargo, the Lincoln Aviator is quite a bit larger at three rows with seating for up to seven people. Above that, you have the Lincoln Navigator, the full-size powerhouse of the Lincoln lineup. But, both of those models cost more than the Nautilus does.

Why buy the Lincoln Nautilus?

If you're torn between the Lincoln Nautilus and another luxury vehicle - or another Lincoln SUV - there are some clear reasons why it's worth considering:

Standard turbo power. The Lincoln Nautilus features a standard 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 250 horsepower. That's more standard strength than most two-row SUVs possess. If you want more muscle, the optional twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 puts out 334 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque and comes with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

Advanced connectivity. Every version of the Lincoln Nautilus gets SYNC® 4 as standard equipment, giving you access to one of the most advanced infotainment systems on the market. SYNC® 4 uses cloud connectivity to learn from you, making it easier to use the more you drive. It also features built-in functions like wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, Lincoln Enhanced Software Updates, and Alexa Built-In.

Lincoln Black Label. While every Lincoln vehicle is a monument to premium quality, a Lincoln Black Label takes everything up another level. The Lincoln Nautilus Black Label is incredibly refined inside and out, offering a unique grille and wheels as well as your choice of two trim-exclusive interior themes. And in addition to a fuller complement of technologies and amenities, the Lincoln Nautilus Black Label offers ownership perks you'll love, including Lincoln Pickup & Delivery™ and anytime carwashes.

Lincoln Nautilus Awards

J.D. Power consumer ratings

The 2019 and 2020 Lincoln Nautilus ranked in the top three for midsize premium SUVs. This award is based on the opinions of verified car owners and judge a vehicle's quality, driving experience, and reliability among other characteristics.

Both Nautilus model years received ratings over 80 in quality and reliability, which is considered a great score. Active noise control, voice-activated SYNC® 3 compatibility, and a turbocharged engine with 8-speed transmission contributed to the high rating by owners.

U.S. News & World Report top pick

U.S. news publishes independent vehicle rankings using world-class data and technology to help consumers make decisions. In 2020, the Lincoln Nautilus achieved a top-five spot in U.S. News' best luxury midsize SUVs consumer ranking. The smooth drive, ample space, and upscale leather cabin make this Lincoln Nautilus a stellar choice for drivers in Huntsville. The Lincoln Nautilus Black Label trim upgrades your ride further with Revel stereo and adaptive suspension.

AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Award

AutoPacific rates vehicles based on over 50,000 vehicle owners' feedback on attributes that are ideal for drivers. In 2019, the Lincoln Nautilus earned top ratings at the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards and the top rank in executive luxury SUVs at the Ideal Vehicle Awards.  The Lincoln Nautilus boasts luxurious interior comfort and state-of-the-art technology that make it an obvious choice for these awards.

IIHS Top Safety Pick

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety dedicates this prestigious award yearly for vehicles that pass rigorous safety inspections. The 2021 and 2022 Lincoln Nautilus each achieved Top Safety Pick status in part due to improved headlight systems that reduce glare. The new LED headlights also feature innovative Adaptive Static Bending technology.

Should You Buy a New or Used Lincoln Nautilus?

Since the Lincoln Nautilus luxury SUV debuted in 2019, the prestigious American automaker has produced an even higher quality model every year. A pre-owned Lincoln Nautilus would certainly be a reliable option, but would it align with your modern desires?

Certified reliability

When you purchase a certified pre-owned Lincoln Nautilus, you can have confidence knowing Lincoln Certified Pre-Owned vehicles go through a 200-point inspection. This rigorous examination even includes a road test. Any parts or equipment that are not up to par are replaced or fixed. That's why you can rely on your pre-owned Lincoln Nautilus to provide a high-quality experience that lasts for years to come.

Mint condition

On the other hand, a newly manufactured Lincoln Nautilus won't have you worrying about an accident history, scratches, or neglected maintenance (which could cause unforeseen issues in the future). Features such as the multi-projector LED headlamps and intelligent all-wheel drive function at peak performance. Your new Lincoln Nautilus also lasts longer without the extra mileage.

A range of availability

Considering the variety of color, interior finish, and package options on the Lincoln Nautilus throughout the years, you're sure to find one you like when opting for a pre-owned model. For example, in 2021 Lincoln redesigned the Lincoln Nautilus cabin to include a 13.2-inch infotainment screen and upgraded the SYNC®4 system. Older models have less up-to-date technology.

Customizable and current

When purchasing or leasing a new 2022 Lincoln Nautilus, you can customize your vehicle with the latest style and technology. Choose from available colors such as a Burgundy Velvet exterior with a roasted ebony interior. Opt for the luxurious Black Label trim that now offers the Flight cabin theme, which embodies the heyday of aviation.

Also available on the new 2022 Lincoln Nautilus is an improved version of Alexa Built-In. Simply ask Alexa to make a phone call, play your music, or make a purchase in a tone that feels natural to you - a factor that previous models lacked.

A pre-owned Lincoln Nautilus is satisfyingly reliable, but purchasing or leasing a new Nautilus provides you with the newest technology and the pride of being the first owner. Either way, Ray Pearman Lincoln in Hunstville, Alabama, is happy to help you in your decision.
