Make Sure Your Lincoln Model Can Withstand the Cold

Here in Huntsville, we don't typically endure the same level of wrath that winter tends to direct at other parts of the country. However, that being said, our vehicles are not exempt from needing a little winter maintenance to make sure that everything is running smoothly. To help your Lincoln model perform at its best during the colder months, take heed of these simple winter maintenance tips:

1.) Make sure your tires have enough air

It's easy to forget about your tires, but paying special attention to them during winter can help you avoid having to replace them too soon. As temperatures drop, particularly at night, your tires lose air pressure. Under-inflated tires can have an array of negative effects on your vehicle ranging from premature tire wear to damaged fuel economy. Check your tires from time to time to make sure their air pressure levels match the recommended levels in your owner's manual.

2.) Get your car battery tested

If your battery is weak, you may find yourself stuck during a cold snap. Cold weather makes it more difficult for batteries to function, so while a weak battery might be able to make it through the warmer months, winter cold could be the last straw before it gives up. To avoid the inconvenience and potential safety hazards of being stuck without a functioning vehicle, we recommend making an appointment with our service center so we can test and, if need be, replace your battery.

3.) Refill or replace fluids

From fresh oil to plenty of windshield washer fluid, your vehicle relies on a variety of fluids to keep all its systems performing as they should. Reach out to us if your vehicle is due for an oil change or fluid service!
